Our Dachshund makes nightly checks?

On my 3 teenagers while they are sleeping. She goes from room to room at least once or twice a night, jumps onto their bed and watches them sleep for 1 or 2 minutes then jumps down and goes to the next kid and does the same thing, she then goes back to her own bed...does anyone else have a dog that does this? I find it very sweet...but is this typical of Dachshunds, we have had many dogs but none but her have ever done this.
