Information about dental implant single tooth replacment?

i am 24 years old and currently with braces. my orthodontist has worked to creat a gap for an implant (instead of a missing tooth) and soon i will need to get it done. i am really scared even though i read a lot about it. anyone who ever had braces and while treatment got an impalnt can share his experience? how long does it take to heal? does it really hurt? any information would be appreciated...
