My male bunny got in with my female bunny this morning. They are 3 months old. Should I be concerned?

We have a double hutch and there was a whole cut out for crossing over. We pulled the fencing back down and wired it together when we got the 2nd bunny. This morning when I got up, the male was in the side with the female. I got very worried thinking that if they tried to mate and weren't old enough that it could hurt one or both of them. Is it possible to have bunnies that young? Or, could that have hurt one of them?
